I just bought a few rain chains for my house as it is undergoing some construction especially the outdoor section of the home. I love to have friends and guests come over and having done this a long time, it was time to do some exterior work on the home. What started out as just a plan to fix faulty or worn out systems and appliances around the home slowly started progressing as a design concept. Since then, I’ve been looking for ideas to make the exterior look great and original. I have since added wood work as part of the outdoor entrance area. I got the idea of adding a rain chain when I saw a photo of one as I was browsing through a look book of outdoor design ideas. I love the contrast of the wood with the copper of the rain chain. I began looking through www.monarchrainchains.com website excitedly for rain chains designs that I could add around the wooden deck area. I saw the traditional link rain chain and felt it was the perfect match for my outdoor deck area. It is a simple design but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m incorporating a lot of natural elements and design concepts that conform closely to nature with a contemporary feel. The traditional link is definitely the contemporary vibe I wanted to incorporate. An added bonus was adding lighting around the area where I have the rain chain so that even during the night hours, the rain chain can still be visibly seen, making it a focal point and therefore not lose its design appeal at dark. The rain chain hangs over an area I designated as being part of a rock bed with beautiful green yucca plants. The area looks awesome and can’t wait for my family and friends to see it at my next gathering. Charlene White Spokane, WA

  1. I use rain chains to direct the rain falling off our roof and for a pretty ambiance too.
